PSAT/NMSQT
What is the PSAT/NMSQT?
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is an optional test available to juniors in October. It is considered a Pre-SAT as it measures the same content areas as the SAT and is administered under the same testing conditions. It also allows students to enter the NMSC scholarship program and gain valuable access to college and career information.
What does it measure?
1.) Critical Reading Skills
2.) Math Problem Solving Skills
3.) Writing Skills
As with the SAT, this test does not necessarily require students to recall information learned from their classes. It assesses how a student thinks, solves problems, and communicates.
