State ACT No Longer Offered
Interested students will need to register and pay for their own ACT examination. Pictured below is this year's National ACT Test Dates. It is recommended that juniors wait until either the April or June testing dates to sit for the exam. If enough students register for the April or October test dates, they will be offered at HHS. A limited number of fee waivers are available for those who qualify. See Mr. Wherley for a fee waiver.
Test Prep Resources
There are numerous test prep resources available to maximize your potential and increase your scores. These include; but are not limited to, ACT's website (www.actstudent.org), testing franchises (ie., Sylvan Learning Center), and test prep manuals.
Test Scores on Your Transcript
A student's ACT scores do not have to be put on his/her transcript. Havana High School will use a reverse permission slip for incidents where students do not wish to have their ACT scores placed on their transcript. That form can be accessed HERE or in the "Forms" page under the "HHS Essentials" tab. If this form is not completed and turned into Mr. Wherley, it will be assumed that you want your ACT scores placed on the transcript.
If you elect to not have ACT scores reported on your transcript, you will need to contact ACT directly to order and pay for ACT scores each time you apply for college and/or scholarships. The cost to order ACT scores directly from ACT is a minimum of $10 per score report ordered. To send ACT scores directly from ACT, go to www.actstudent.org.
FYI: Most students elect to have their ACT scores included on their transcripts.

BENCHMARK SCORES
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
If an 11th grade student taking the ACT test does not meet or exceed the benchmark score for a particular subject area, there is a 75% chance that he/she will not get a C or higher within a college freshman-level course within the same subject area. Students can use their score reports to measure their college readiness as they progress through high school.
